Large part of Australia is covered by the desert area known as the “outback.” The country is popular for its Great Barrier Reef, a vast interior desert wilderness known as the outback, unique animal species and Sydney opera house. Australia has a range of different landscapes, including urban areas, mountain ranges, deserts and rain forests. There are variety of unique animals in Australia such as the koala, kookaburra, emu, kangaroo, and platypus.
The indigenous people of Australia are the Australia Aborigines and the Torres Strait islanders. The highest mountain in mainland Australia is Mt Kosciuszko which stands at 7310FT above the sea level. The Great Barrier Reef in Australia is the largest reef system in the world which is on the north-eastern coast of the country. The official currency of Australia is the Australia dollar.

The climate in Australia varies with tropical climate in the northern parts, subtropical in the south and temperate in the south east and south west.
